REVIEW: PALAFITTE HOTEL NEUCHÂTEL

It’s almost Christmas time again! Crazy how time flies, isn’t it? Pre-Christmas time is always kind of stressfull, due to a lot of work at the office, tons of events, gift shopping and everyone who wants to meet before the holidays. Lucky us we had the chance to relax a little bit before the “social-holiday-storm”. Last weekend, we had the chance to spent a night at Palafitte hotel in the French part of Switzerland.

I love discovering new hotels and accommodations, especially when it’s such a magical and unique one as the Palafitte hotel. Why unique you might ask yourself. Well, the Hotel was built on stilts on lake Neuchâtel. It’s the only one in Europe with such an unique architecture. So you can imagine what a mesmerizing view we enjoyed from our lake pavilion. The modern 5-star hotel doesn’t only has offers an amazing view, great service and cozy interior, but also a restaurant  with 13 Gault Millau points! Yummi!

COSINESS BY THE LAKE

The hotel offers their guests various packages, we had the chance to enjoy the cosiness by the lake package, which contained:

• 1 night in a Lake Pavilion
• Welcome amenities to plunge into a world of sweets during the stay
• Breakfast in the pavilion or buffet in the restaurant “La Table de Palafitte”
• Dinner in the pavilion or in the restaurant “La Table de Palafitte”
• A snack in the room
• Relaxing spa experience at Villa Florius a 120 minute treatment including an exfoliation, a body wrap and a massage

The hotels knows it very well, that in the cold season it’s all about feeling cozy and comfortable. With lovely cozy wool socks on our bed and Netflix they created for us the perfect cocooning experience. It almost felt like home.

OUR EXPERIENCE

We arrived on Saturday afternoon around 14.00 in Neuchâtel. From Zurich it took us like 1.5 hours by car to get there.  At 15.00 we had our treamtent booked After a heavenly relaxing 120 minutes treatment at the spa (which is located approx. 35 min. away from the hotel) we returned in our pavilion, had a shower and enjoyed a delicious dinner at the restaurant “La table de Palafitte”. The food was really good and the all the people from the staff were very friendly. From the beginning until the end we felt really comfortable and enjoyed a great time.

The Palafitte hotel is definitely the perfect get away to enjoy some relaxing moments in nature to fill up the energy tank. I can only imagine how amazing it must be to stay there during the Summer time. From the pavilion balcony you can jump directly in the lake, so amazing!
